When I was told that an early 1900’s black and white film, with no sound produced remarkable responses within the film industries I was very confused, that was until I watched the film and research about it myself. This film has a unique expressionist style and an excellent set design, which seems rather distorted, the films characters and storyline seem identical to modern films that I have watched; this makes me understand that this film must have paved a pathway for future films to follow.
