Prior to using the sheet given to me containing the rule of the thirds I struggled to understand what it was used for, after I combined the sheet with a film it appeared to me that each square was a focus point of interest. Depending on the importance and distance of the specific object will determine where it is positioned within the thirds; using this grid enable us to see what effect each position has on the shot taken within the film, providing more creative and exciting shots and angles within the film. Looking at this rule has enabled me to understand the importance of the framing and composing within films, which I will try to relate to my work when needed.
