Raymond Frederick Harryhausen (1920 - Present) is not only a film producer, but also a special effects artist, who is famously recognised by his stop motion (modelled) animations. One of Raymond Harryhausen most noticed productions was ‘Mighty Joe Young’, this film showed the level of talent that he produced, as the special effects were much more remarkable than previous films; the models made for this film had such fine detail and quality that it must have stunned those who view it at its release, ‘Mighty Joe Young’ still shows clear examples of techniques, which are still used within modern animated features.
